A helping hand for Rural NSW firefighters

As bushfires continue to threaten in NSW and around Ausralia, Lifelong Learning Centre teams are stepping up their community spirit.

During the ongoing crisis of bushfires across Australia, our centres in New South Wales have been doing their part to aid those in need. Both families and our team in NSW have been participating in a drive to collect supplies and resources in order to aid victims of the local bushfires and our brave firefighters.

Lauren White - our Centre Manager at Kids Academy Preschool in New South Wales expressed her pride in both the community at large and the families who attend her centres.

“In just two days parents and families donated many important supplies such as bottled water, tinned food, toiletries and blankets,” Lauren said.

“We’re delighted to have dropped these off to the local Rural Fire Service who have been so appreciative and thankful for all of these wonderful and kind donations.”

Milestones Early Learning Pitt Town, Kids Academy Preschool, Kids Academy Glenmore Park, Kids Academy Penrith, Kids Academy Regentville and Pitt Town Early Learning Centre all participated in the drive.

"The focus has been on maintaining a strong community spirit despite our current challenges,” said Area Manager Olga Klaassen.

The drive has been important to many staff members and families at Pitt Town ELC, as Centre Manager Catherine Magazzu explained.

Many members of our community have been on high alert due to the severity and close range of the fires to Pitt Town, but this pressure has only united the community”.

Questions to ask on your family centre tour

When touring childcare centres for the first time it can be overwhelming.

As the saying goes, ‘first impressions’ count, but taking the time to ask deeper questions and really find out what your early education and childcare centre has to offer you and your child will always be time well spent.
